News
SBKS GmbH & Co KG has been awarding the "CIPP - Provem Quality" certificate to companies working in the field of pipe lining since 2017. The document certifies that the renovation was carried out to a high standard using the product. The certificate is free of charge and is sent to our customers by email at the beginning of the following year.
Characteristics:
The certificate is based on the test results of liners that the company has carried out with us in one year.
Criteria:
The certificate is awarded if at least 95 % of the test results meet the requirements. The requirements relate to the following properties of the liner in accordance with the valid approval.
- modulus of elasticity
- Flexural strength
- Watertightness
- Wall thickness
Conclusion
The quality certificate for pipe liners is proof of the quality of refurbishment with pipe liners. It provides clients and users with the assurance that the refurbishment has been carried out professionally.

DIN EN ISO 11296-4 and the bending modulus calculation
Today, DIN EN ISO 11296-4 specifies the requirements and test methods for cured in place pipes (CIPP) for the renovation of gravity sewer pipes. The previous standard DIN EN 13566-4 already described the modified implementation of the three-point flexural test for curved test specimens in the annex. In the course of the revision of DIN EN ISO 11296-4, drastic changes were introduced in the 2018 edition, which had a huge impact on the characteristic values determined in the flexural test.

Residual styrene content in
CIPP samples - in search of
for the appropriate limit value
Driven by recent developments in the industry regarding the setting of limit values for the residual styrene content inCIPP samples, this technical report deals with the background and correlations between (un)complete polymerization and the long-term properties of styrene-containing pipe liners. For this purpose, the determined residual styrene contents and 24-hour creep tendencies of a total of 176 real construction site samples were analyzed. The evaluation of the data should contribute to a deeper understanding of this complex topic. The technical report is therefore not intended as an instruction,
but as food for thought.

Environmental impact studied by means of LCA
Environmental concerns are leading to a greater emphasis on sustainable production. The industry is looking for environmentally friendly ways to reduce its impact on the environment while maintaining revenue. In the following study, the production of CIPP pipes is examined using a rigorous life cycle analysis (LCA).

The life cycle analysis - sustainability in underground
Every product can be related to the environmental impact of its production, use or disposal. The steadily growing awareness of environmental protection in recent years has led to a lively interest in the "ecological footprint" of products and services. In order to make this so-called footprint both accessible and quantifiable, valid methods for evaluating a product's life cycle have been developed: the life cycle assessment study. The internationally used, equivalent term of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) has also become established in Germany.

Residual styrene content in CIPP samples -
Measurement methodology and effects
Since the advent of styrene-curing CIPP resins, the industry has been concerned with the issue of "residual styrene content". Be it clients, environmental protection, contractors whose performance may be called into question, or structural engineers and engineering consultants or structural engineers and engineering consultants who cannot provide structural proof of the final product if the curing process is inadequate. This This technical report sheds light on the background, provides information on the measurement methods to be used, and looks at the effects of non polymerized styrene on liners and the environment.

Modern sample management in the testing of pipe liner samples.
We are all regularly flooded with statistical evaluations and information. This is all well and good in order to allow interpretations and to make decisions. However, in most cases the central statement is strongly dependent on the data basis, which cannot be influenced. In short, statistics must be believed unconditionally.

Quality assurance of vertical liner systems
The success rate of trenchless rehabilitation using pipe liners is impressive. However, according to DIN EN 752, the aim of rehabilitation must be to seal the complete system against exfiltration and infiltration, which inevitably raises the question of the tightness or functionality of the transfer points and manholes.
