Foundation

The "Sachverständigenbüro für Kunststoffe Dr. Sebastian" was founded on 1 May 2000 in St. Wendel (Saarland).  In 2010, the company changed its name to SBKS GmbH & Co. KG. From the very beginning, we have been focusing on in-house and external monitoring, application tests as well as physical and chemical examinations of reinforced and non-reinforced plastics.

Accreditation

Since 2002, our testing laboratory has been continuously accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. This confirms the laboratory as a conformity assessment body for various mechanical-technological, analytical, chemical, physical-chemical as well as thermal tests on plastics and fiber-reinforced plastics (see also "certificate of accreditation" under Downloads). 

Database

Our laboratory has been working with a database since the end of 2005. Each individual sample is given a barcode, which makes it virtually impossible to mix up the samples. All necessary parameters of the sample and the test are recorded in the database. In order to document the appearance and size of the sample, a digital image is created and automatically inserted in the digital test report. Online customer zone access gives you real-time access to the results and test reports of your commissioned samples.
